THE DOCTOR IS IN…NO REALLY

These days, patients are lucky if they are actually able to see the doctor when they make an appointment for specialty care. Due to the pressures of modern medicine, the face of healthcare has changed over the last several decades. The use of physician extenders has substantively increased to the point where it is pretty common to either never see the actual doctor or only see the doctor occasionally. Instead, you will often be seen by a nurse, nurse practitioner, physician’s assistant or medical resident or fellow (doctors in training). Although there are many good clinicians out there, we feel it is essential that when you have a complex problem such as a brain injury, you should be seeing the clinician with the most expertise based on training and experience. That is why at Concussion Care Centre of Virginia you will always see our specialist doctors whether in brain injury medicine, neuroendocrinology, neurooptometry or physical therapy.

We also believe that we are here to serve you and that your time and resources are just as valuable as ours, so we do our best to see our patients on time. This means you will not have to take additional time off of work due to sitting around for an hour, two hours or more waiting to see our doctors.

If you need help following a concussion or more severe traumatic brain injury, please consider reaching out to us at 804-270-5484.  We are more than happy to assist in any way we can to facilitate you getting the best health care for your problems as quickly as possible.
